Hahaha sweet :). I bet that sounds awesome with the manny on it aswell :). Did you import it yourself? What speedo converter are you running cuz mine doesn’t engage vtec in 1st gear till it reaches about 6500 rpm, spoke to HondR and they said it’s common when running kph to mph converters but it’s pissing me off tbh, always had UK spec Ludes so never come across this problem before :(

No I bought it from Torque GT. Here it is on their site - https://www.torque-gt.co.uk/prelude-type-s.html.

I can ask Torque GT what converter they use, I am pretty sure mine engages vtec in 1st at 5200 like usual.

If done properly you can convert kph to mph and still have vtec in first and the speed limiter removed.
Skunk2 is one of the loudest exhausts so that should work for you.
I have an Invidia Q300 on my Type S however I don't like loud exhausts. A deep idle and raspy top end of how I like it.
Welcome to the Type S elite. Don't mod it too much or you'll end up removing atts.

On a 5th gen the convertor has to be after the ecu to keep vtec in first. Downside to this is it puts the limiter back on but that shouldn't be an issue with our 70mph roads. Yours has probably been done at the speed sensor @ gearbox explaining the lack of vtec in first.

I checked with Darren at Torque and he says they put a chip behind the clocks, explains why I have VTEC in first. I don't know if I have a limiter at 112mph or whatever it is, but it wouldn't bother me as unlikely to ever go that fast.

Thanks for the replies people :). ATR84 your rides sweet mate. It sounds like a tricky topic tbh I might just leave it as it is, because ya never know when you need to go over 112mph haha. Won’t be putting a supercharger or anything on it just yet so the atts can stay, plus it makes it handle so well. Does anybody how many Type S’s are in the uk currently?

Cheers  Yours looked in great condition in the for sale pics as well.

If you want to change the converter, Torque GT do sell them, I would argue vtec in 1st is more important than being able to go 112mph :D . Although I don't even know if mine is limited to 112mph........

Remember if done properly you get vtec in first and the limiter removed. Just like my Type S.
I believe my converter is between these clocks and the vss that goes into the ecu.
