Hi Everyone, I’ve recently joined the world of prelude owning with a 1989 Ex 2.0 twin carb.
I love the look of the car but does need some attention as sat for some years. I never knew that getting parts for a car could be so difficult!
Is there anyone out there that has put bike carbs onto their car and if so how has it turned out?

The Keihin carbs on the 3rd gen are bike carbs to begin with.
You can use any carbs as long as you make an adapter plate and they flow enough for the engine. Bigger flowing carbs would help this engine loads.

Hi Ratty thanks for your response, I’ve done lots of research and it is a straight forward swap with the manifold being the only piece needing to be made. But I was just wondering if anyone had done it to their 3G lude and what their outcome has been ie better/ worse throttle response, increase in power/ acceleration, smoother idle, or has it completely backfired and turned into a nightmare to live with.

Its been done on other b20 engine in civics and the older accords but no on preludes. Maybe try and find a pair of sidedraft webbers from the 80s. I researched the idea when i had my ex.
In the end i just removed all the air intake and put anthick lexan plate over a k&n air filter anf left everything open. Really opened the engine up. Top end was hugely improved.
