Hi and welcome.

Regarding exhaust, it depends what you want. Something quiet, loud, performance, stock replacement?

Welcome Paul.
In quite new to this group too but really looking forward to what is ahead. I'm hoping that we can get a meet once everything has cleared up. About your exhaust I got a custom made exhaust made from a specialist, I told them to make it as quiet as possible because it was stainless steel it was very quiet the first day and then got louder and louder as days went past 🤣 then I put in some v power and the sound was crazy but guess what I wouldn't change anything about it and you will notice a good difference in power too from when you go to pick up the car once its fitted.

Lo :D
I bought a stainless exhaust from the US years ago for only £250 or so.
It looked a bit big at first as it's single round end can but once I fitted the lower lip it looked better.
Sound wise it's great not too loud and bit rorty
If I remove the baffle mind it's far too loud
It has lasted really well too.
I did have to modify the length where it fitted to the cat, can't remember if it had to be lengthened or shortened.
Cheers ;)

I've heard nothing but good reports regarding the Legalis R cat back. Well made and a shade louder than stock.

Hello and welcome, great to welcome a new member.

There used to be a lot of cheap stainless oem-type exhausts available on ebay, not sure if they're still available or not.

Every other 'big brand' off-the-shelf stainless type exhaust (Fujitsubo, Skunk2 etc) will be slightly louder than stock - and how much/when in the rev range) will vary between each one.

The only way to achieve a stock sounding/looking exhaust will probably be to have one custom made (not necessarily that expensive if you use a place like a Powerflow franchise place, so they custom make from a range of generic components)

FWIW, I have a powerflow exhaust on my oem BB1 and it sounds and looks perfect for an oem lude, while I have a Skunk 2 on my BB4 which sounds absolutely sexy AF and is beautifully tuned to the car (only very slightly louder at low throttle perfectly usable around town and opens into a glorious sexual sound in vtec which still isn't deafening).
I also have an uncomon make (I forget what now) twin-loop on another BB1 which sounds nice and not too loud - but you won't be able to find one of those anyway.
