Hey there.

I just joined the other site and was told to stop by here also. Anyways because I am super lazy I am just gonna copy and past my intro post from the other site. So a few of you may have already seen it. Enjoy :P

My name's Gerry and as title says im from Clydebank just out side Glasgow and I'm 25.

I don't have a Prelude as of yet but plan on looking for one around August time when my Student Loan comes in (I know it really is ment to support my studies :P ) and after a summer of putting the hours in at work.

I will be looking for a 2.2 vti 5th Gen. Just something about the 5th Gen I love If anybody can point towards a good buyers guide that would be awesome :)

It will be a step up from my current ride. A 1998 Honda Crx Del sol Esi Its currently off road due to a caliper sezing and and MOT has now ran out. Got new caliper so just need pads then tax and tested then plan is to either sell it or part exchange it towards a prelude. Oh and of course the extra mini seats will come in handy.

I first thought about getting a Mitshibushi FTO but done some reading and decided to just stick with Honda. It would have also been a bit silly having a subscription to Total Honda and driving around in a FTO.

Well thats pretty much I Guess looking forward to becoming part of forum. With Prelude hopefully

Here is a couple of pictures of my Sol to give you something to look at.

Story about the civic in middle. It Randomly went up in flames during middle of night. Waking my mate up with a huge bang Fire Brigade said it was an electrical fault. Mate was well and truly gutted.

Also the day I cycled past a Milano (correct prelude colour?) Red one the day it's parked in a car wash in Dalmuir It looks awesome when the sun catches it.

dont think there is but there isnt much to look for they are fairly simple make sure all the dash lights come on and go out all the buttons do what they are supposed to and check the arches for rust if you have owned any honda its the same routine really.

oh and make sure the gearbox goes into 5th smoothly and that vtec engages might not be a harsh crossover as the prelude isnt as badly tuned as other vtecs

Wish I had done that with the sol. It was firts time buying a car so little overwhelmed and had liked them for a while so when seen it in flesh just instantly got the blinkers on. Bodywork was a little rougher the next day when taking a better look after buying it.

Welcome to LG dude 8-)

Main things to look out for are:

5th gear crunch
Rust on rear arches, around sunroof, around windscreen
Sticky/ seized calipers

Also don't buy an auto/ triptronic unless for whatever reason you can't drive a manual.

:)
