Hey guys just found this site and thought id register and say hello. some may remember me from Honda revs days or elsewhere - had my black BB4 beast for over 8 years now and used to be really active but then fell off the scene a couple of years ago - usual work/life boring commitments ya

Anyways I'm back but with sadness as I'll be selling or breaking my lude pretty sharpish. Reason being? Well it got trashed in the mental hailstorm we had here in the midlands a few weeks back. Car runs 100% as strong as it ever was but due to nice little dents in every panel the insurers deemed it a write off. Even the carbon fibre lost most of its lacquer being 'hail blasted'

So keep an eye out for my thread I will start soon but for a heads up heres a quick run down....

1995 JDM Si VTEC H22A with M2B4 LSD box
Dastek Unichip (runs about 220 with 179 torques off the top of my head)
loads of history / receipts / dynos etc etc
Tanabe Sustek Pro coilovers with c-spanners and damper adjustment tool (mini screwdriver lol)
Dc Sports ceramic coated mani
DC sports s/s exhaust with backyard bodge s/s decat section (JDM cat available but never needed hence bodged decat section - just cut the whole bit out)
All the usual JDM goodies - wind deflectors, full EL dash/gauge cluster, one piece headlights, corner lights, cup holder, flare etc...
VTEC controlller - adjustable on the fly (Dastek fully mapped for both cam profiles, throttle etc but 4400 or thereabouts is sweet - linear as .... )
Loads more tht I cant remember off the top of my head. Oh yeah magnecors, strut braces, original bits in garage as well as unused red cobra monaco, CF bg gay GT wing all gathering dust.
Car is T&T until the end of the month.

Keep an eye out folks - no idea what half of this is worth these days.

Oh and don't worry I'm not leaving Honda altogether - just got a nice NHB EP3 Civic Type R Premier Edition :D

Wow, must've been some hailstorm.

EP3, cool cars, had 2 of them. You need K-Pro :)

You near South Wales? Someone is looking to buy a BB4 as a project

It sure was. I thought everybody was exaggerating until I got home and saw for myself. Loads of vids on You Tube - have a look for Hinckley Burbage hail storms.

South Wales? Only a couple of hours really - I'll check out his thread ta!

Oh and the Civ is staying standard, end of... well for now.... must resist

I feel for you!

I live about 7 miles from Burbage near Hinckley. My cousin had his car totally written off due to hailstones in Burbage also. I was surprised my car got away without damage that day.

Yer those Hail storms were a bitch, i live near market harborough and do chipsaway in south notts. The amount of people that called me to remove the dents was unreal all calling from hinkley. Everyone of them was a write off or a full respray bodyshop job.

I call shotgun on the dastek

Aye, shame that. So how does the Civic compare with the Prelude? The VTEC kick certainly isn't the same eh, more of a swift progress than a definitive jump. And you'll be sitting a good few inches higher.

I know you said no mods but seriously one of the best cheapies is the JDM EP3 rear sway bar, it's 3mm thicker iirc and makes a good difference for the dollar, about £90. Shoudve been standard.

After that, K-Pro :) VTEC at 4k

Mind & check the oil regularly, but you've probably learnt this with the Prelude.

And don't consider Yoko Paradas! Suicide tyres in the wet

Yeah I always used to take the pee out of EP3's and when they first came out me and Chris_Gee used to have a play with one that was bought by a fellow club member. It couldnt have either of us lol.

But those days are gone and to be totally honest I am really liking the refinement of the Type R. Yeah that crazy dip before VTEC at 6250rpm is gonna do my head in but boy it is smooth. My lude is quite frankly a handful to drive - bone shattering suspension, outright full on raw power, heavy clutch, heavy steering, no comforts lol.

I love Parada's - used them on the lude since they came out and know how to handle them in the wet i.e slowly around anything that slightly resembles a corner lol. The civic has Pirelli run flats on the front at the mo and RE040's at the back. Not sure if the Pirellis are any good but will probably stick to the Bridgestones as I've heard good things about them.
