Been meaning to introduce myself for a few weeks but the missus keeps hogging the pooter!! Wurlycorner put me onto this site, hope those bits you had are Ok Ian.

Picked up a nice looking 4G recently but sadly I know very little about cars so I might need your help and advice over the coming months. I've been into motorbikes all my life and with my 50th birthday rapidly approaching we decided on another trip to the Nurburgring. Unfortunately, I woke up one morning and felt my age!! Did I really want to travel 300 miles on a Fireblade, for fun?! So, all this happened to come up in conversation at work and a guy said he was selling a Prelude, and so I bought it.
So far I have only driven it about 5 miles for various reasons so the exact state of whats working and what isn't has not been properly assessed. However, the 4WS was working when I picked it up but doesn't appear to be now. I'm not too bothered about it working or not and would prefer to bin it completely so here's the first question. If i put a 2WS rear subframe on, is it a straight swap or wiil I need to swap hubs or anything else as well? Dont really want the wheels flapping about in all directions when belting round the Ring!
Another question, some of you might know the previous owner, Martin Hoskins, from Chatham, worked as a valeter for Lotus. Just wondered if anyoneknew him and could remember anything he might have said about the car?
I'll post some photos at when I suss out how to do it, I just hope its as fast as it looks.

Regards,
Pete

Welcome to LG!!

For the 2WS conversion you'll need the 2WS subframe and rear toe arms. There are one or two sets of these for sale on the forum and Facebook at the moment.

Hi Pete !
Welcome to the forum !
Like to see pictures of your lude :)

About your 4ws: 4ws is the best if you don't want to do some weight deduction for racing or somewhat else.
Try to fix your 4ws and point out the problem via your CEL light. If your 4ws light lights up ofcourse.

If you truly want to swap to a 2ws setup, you need the 2ws subframe and the rear toe arms. Actually you need the complete setup for a 2ws car. Apart of that it is a pain in the ass to swap it out.
But that's just my .02.

Good luck !

Welcome to the forum.
I agree with Edson, and think you should try and fix the 4ws before binning it. If you have only driven five miles then you probably havent had time to decide if you like it yet.

Welcome along :D If you need any help, lemme know as I work in Maidstone :D (live in Bexleyheath / Crayford area though)

I still have a couple of old spare 4th gen parts in my garden too. A custom front splitter, and some other bits and bobs (nothing amazing though)

I'm a big 4th gen lover, so be more than happy to help.
