RUSTY REAR ARCHES.

UNDERPOWERED 2.0I ENGINE.

Make sure that vtec works @ around 5.2k revs when engine is warm, if buying a 2.2 vtec.
also if the abs, 4ws and air bag lights illuminate when putting the ignition on and then extinguish after the car starts.
have a look at the engine code too, h22a5/6/7 but its the 8 you want.

welcome along. :D 8-)

Welcome Sir! 8-)
As above. Call me sceptical, but I'm always a little suspect o mileage just below 100k - says the guy who bought his 11 years ago, on 98k   All I mean is, check it's not due any major bills - clutch cambelt etc and that the mileage tallies up correctly 8-) Other than that, condition is everything, so as above re the arches, sills too.

Welcome to the forum.
Yeah as above really but rust round the sunroof is another spot to check. ensure all the electrics work properly and if in doubt take a paperclip with you. 8-)
Good luck
Dan

Its a 2.2 vtec the fella on the phone said the arches are good, its £1400 so if its mint is that good money for one, mot was just done so all the dash would have to be working for that, its maual

good luck, just dont let your heart rule your head. also check for oil leaks around the power steering pump, distributor sump and rocker cover. check how much smoke comes out of the back on vtec engagement.
