not a prelude owner...yet !

hello,
i live in portugal at the moment, but i will be moving to england (southampton) in august, and im considering buying a prelude 4th gen 2.2. i'd like to ask you guys if you could tell me about the running costs of this car : taxes, insurance, petrol prices etc. the thing that worries me the most is the insurance and taxes/MOT.
any help would be very much appreciated.

Hi Buddy I hate to say this but if you are short of money the lude isn't the best car to jump into although the initial outlay is low and you do get a lot for your money running costs will be fairly high.

My GF is from Portugal. (no one will believe)
I'll tell her to write in Portuguese when she comes home.
Prelude is a sports car which when driven fast it doesn't give the best MPG..
Tax and Insurance etc is OK.

Welcome to LG!!
The tax is not that bad around £240 per year. MOT and isurance is down to the car you get and you as a driver. Generally though most Preludes should have an easy time at MOT.
Like mercutio says, it can drink fuel if you like to drive it fast, but it is a great car.

thanks guys.
i know the car fairly well, i never owned or driven one, but i got a lot of info from the web. the only thing i really need to know is how much will i pay for tax and for the MOT, and insurance as well.
i know the car can be heavy on gas... but i dont want a nissan micra LOL i know the car is reliable if i take good care of it, and i will. ´
