Before I start faffin' about, does anyone know if ATR rear seats fit into a 5G?

Yes they fit with modification to rails. No they dont tilt forward to allow rear shinanigans.

Back seats are solid in the ATR, forms part of the chassis stiffening ;)

That's (sort of) why I was asking. I don't mind losing the ability to fold the backs.
I just didn't want to remove 6 (or would it have to be 8?) seats to try the layout if there was a quick answer available!
