Digital heater controll questions.

Post by Thebusofwoe » Wed May 14, 2014 1:45 pm

Guys what does it take to fit the digital heater controls? I have the opportunity to get the whole lot but am deciding if its worth it or not. I would like it over the manual controls. Is there any how too's?

Cheers chaps :D

I've just done this in a 5th gen. I will send you a pm later, when I get in from work. I have some links to write ups, some of which are for 4ths.

I did it by myself without any write ups. I was lucky as I had donor car next to mine so it was easier. I started from electrical loom. First I removed under dash loom and going from CC panel connectors I was following single wires. When I had it separated I put this into my car. The rest was easy.

Plenty of work but not so complicated as it looks like and defo nice effect. One of service manual suplements also is handy

for me - there's no money to make me to do it for anybody else. I mean if I had to do it again for myself then yes. If for somebody else then No thanks. It takes lot of time as you have to remove front seats (for easy access), dashbord, front bumper, plus few other panels, redo some looms, install few bits and pieces. This take a lot of time if you wanna do it properly and time is money. And at the end of the day when you put all back together the only difference is control panel. Now try to explain to somebody why it was so expensive if you only changed few buttons.

I would rather help with installation for beer and pizza than do it by myself for cash ;) ;)

I had my bits from my old prelude so didn't have to pay. And depends of condition prices may vary. My brother in law for his civic CC controls paid 90+postage and I think it was quite fair price

Somebody also has to do all that work to remove them from their car, so although the parts aren't necessarily worth that, there is a lot of labour involved in getting out for you, everything that you need...
