Driver's seat stuck in recline position

Hi All,

Not my car, but a car I am interested in buying. It is a UKDM BB1, the driver's seat is stuck in a position, it won't move either way. It still slides back and forth on it's rails, it is just the recline position.

Is this a known issue/easy fix or is it a new seat job?

Thanks
Michael

Not heard of that one?
They're pretty simple mechanisms though, so probably a cable become disconnected?

If it's a UKDM it should have 3 ways to adjust the recline - the slider at the top/side of the seat back, the handle at the side of the seat squab and there should be a little lever towards the back of the seat squab/back, that moves it slightly through 3 positions.

Have you tried all 3? Does one or the other work?

I'd put money on the problem being money. Coins in fact. They fall out of pockets and wedge neatly in the mechanism. An easy fix, but you do have to take the seat out to strip it down.

Yep, any money its a £1.00 they are just the right thickness and width to stick in the runner

Stuck in the runner?
Causing the seat back to be stuck in recline?

So it only costs £1 to tell her that the passenger seat is stuck on full recline?
