Type S seats, which material?

Hey folks,

Just wondering what material the OEM Type S seats are made from?

They look like leather with alcantara centres but i read somewhere that they are not real leather?

This is from a cleaning point of view as i want to clean them up & don't want to damage them by using the wrong products.

Kind regards :D

If you are able to have a look at the reverse side of the material, you should be able to tell.

If it looks man-made with possibly woven stitching, then it's most likely vinyl.
If it looks like suede, then it's almost certainly real leather.

I know i know!

The leather is faux called "Cabron", the suede is called "excene", some lexus's use excene too. Both materials were developed by the toray industries which are a part of alcantara group.

Use suede cleaner on the excene and gliptone leather on the cabron.
