Carlos, my Fan blower was very weak, I replaced the filters as they were the original ones from when the lude was made. Vast improvement in cabin airflow and it now clears the screen

bit of a thread revival, but. i knew there was something wrong with my fans performance.

i happened on a facebook post about panel filters on 5th gens.......

5th gens have panel filter........ :o

whipped the glove box out and loe and behold a plastic cover hiding a pair of panel filters.

i pulled them out and they are only the bloody originals dated wk10/1996 and my Christ, the debris that fell out of the slot, like black soot and flies and leaves, yuk

so here is one picture.

you 5th genners need to check your filters.

oh and now my fan works a treat. although still need to fill the filters cages with new filters.

Been a while since I've been on.. Had some work done on the car (service, timing belt etc). I've also done this retro-fit now. For anyone interested its very easy. Sorry.... no pics but I just followed the steps on this link http://www.preludeonline.com/f60/diy-97 ... it-257563/. Takes about 10 - 15 mins. Before you put the filters clean, use a vacuum and clean out all the stuff thats accumulated in the a/c unit. Nice clean air now :)

Parts ordered from Lings Honda:
Filters x2 @£21.00 each. Part No 80291-S30-901
Cover/Lid x1 @£22.06. Part No 80203-S30-003
Frame Upper x1 @ £16.10. Part No 80292-S30-A01
Frame Lower x1@ £16.10. Part No 80297-S30-A01
Seal Filter x2 @ £11.63 Part No 80293-S30-003
Total £119.52 (+ approx £7 for shipping)

So @AKT-VTI and whoever else has done this retrofit: was it worth it? What was it like afterwards? Can you notice any real difference? Do you recommend it?
