...I pressed my knob, then the shiny bit fell off....

..and I was very disappointed to say the least. It's never happened to me before, as I've often held my knob firmly and pressed the shiny bit in.
Glad to say that with a bit of minor surgery, I can now hold my knob again and everything's back in its proper place. Phew.
