Hi
Does anyone know if I can convert non-heated to heated? Mine are heated, and a little worn, but I also have a set of mint non-heated, so I wondered what's involved in transferrring the pads from the heated to the non-heated. I've done it on my TT, bit of an arse, but doable.
Thanks
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

You could always get aftermarket ones an change plugs over if originals aren't worth bothering with

The original seats are in great condition, a bit of leather food and they'd be 9/10. The replacements are 10/10, but the pedant in me wants to convert those to heated as it's quite a rare option.Andyjess666 wrote: ↑Mon May 04, 2020 9:18 amYou could always get aftermarket ones an change plugs over if originals aren't worth bothering with

Can't see why not - the covers come off and it's all the same parts diagram/base/cover in the heated and non-heated ones.EddieMunster wrote: ↑Sun May 03, 2020 7:44 pmDoes anyone know if I can convert non-heated to heated?

You'll need to get the seat out of the car and strip the covers off. Haven't looked at the construction of a 5G seat, but on a 4g seat, the covers come apart/off with a combination of zips and metal rings (which you can bend open a bit to allow them to be 'unhooked' and then reverse to re-attach).

I think it might be worth sacrificing one set to make a nice heated set; if the covers come off the current seats then I can put the covers from the perfect seats on in their place. I think that's the way forward.....
