Hi folks,
Was searching for something in my car last night, when I noticed it looked like there was a couple of wires going into the base of the drivers seat... What is that for? I don't have heated seats

I saw another loom on the exhaust tunnel side, however I'm guessing that goes to the seatbelt buckle sensor?
So, any guesses as to what my mystery wires are? Will try to get a photo later if that helps
Cheers,
Josh

Could it be seatbelt warning system?

I don't know, does it have a pressure sensor in the seat? I could see wiring going into the seatbelt buckle which is definitely for the seatbelt warning system. Guess I can test it by turning on the car whilst not sitting in the seat, if no light comes on then it must be pressure sensitive

I had a couple of plugs going into mine but I don't have SRS or a seatbelt warning light in my BB4. I assumed they were heated seats. They were somewhat heavier than the ones I replaced them with out of my old BB3.

Heated seats aren't noticeably heavier. All it is is some weird cloth thing with a thin heating element through it and a few wires.

They're definitely for the seatbelt warning light.
I don't know how it works though.

Hmmm if I unplug them then will the annoying light go away for good?
*edit
Not condoning not wearing a seatbelt, but I hate that if I do slip my belt off for whatever reason then I get a warning... I'm quite capable of knowing if I'm strapped in or not

when i changed the seats in mine and unplugged them the light stayed off so i think disconnecting them stops the warning light coming on
