Drivers footwell soaked in water?

Post by RattyMcClelland » Sun Oct 21, 2012 6:17 pm

Can anyone suggest why the drivers footwell on my Type S is seeping in water. All of that deadening i put in is saturated in water.
The firwall appears dry but its mainly around the foot area, but the whole area is soaked.
I dont drive it much so i can only assume its leaking whilst standing.

Any suggestions?

you know that 3k sound system you put in it, is the wiring all sealed up nice and tight where it enters the body?

The only entrance is where the 0AWg goes through the firewall but thats been installed for 2 years now.

However i have had the bottom of the door cards off for a while but the passenger footwell is fine.

I cant work it out. I even checked the washer jets etc.

Check under the scuttle panel cover for anything untoward too.

Have you checked that the cowl cover is clear of leaves etc?
I know a lot of modern cars develop a leak in this area, in some cases (Renault..) it conveniently soaks the electrics/ecu....

Incontinence is a problem with 5th gen drivers I believe
I have kleptomania,
But when it gets bad,
I take something for it.
