Electric Folding Mirror Relay OEM Location

Hi All
I am in the process of getting my electric folding mirrors installed (slow process) and instead of using the oem switch that came with it i intend to install my own switch as i want to retain the heated mirrors and it is probably easier to leave the heated circuit alone and create a new loom for the folding mirrors.
I just wanted to know whereabouts the OEM location for the relay is? I have removed my door card today to remove the mirrors and had a browse around but couldnt locate an area where its supposed to go
Is the JDM door different to the UKDM doors?
Or is the relay usually installed under the dash?
Car is a 5th Gen

4th gen has the folding mirror relay in the passenger door.
Is the 5th gen different?

5th gen have not relay like 4th gen, in 5th gen relay is build in in to a multiplex!
So to fit 5th gen Jdm folding mirrors in to a UKDM Prelude you need to use 4th gen relay.
Little advice - as you said your current mirros are heated and you have a separate button for that, my idvice is conect mirrors heaing to rear windscrean defrost button and fit folding mirror button - that is how I did that and everything works fine.

Hmmm interesting. Cheers Cebul. So if i just connect the folding mirrors to the existing heated mirror circuit without the relay and connect the switch i got with the mirrors to the existing loom it should work?
but if theres no proper relay how would the mirrors stop in its proper place as the relay as current sensing
What wires are the for the rear screen on the control switch console?
Would it be a matter of connecting one wire to the rear demist switch and one wire to ground? for each mirror?
cheers

No, he means fit the 4th gen relay system, but this will replace the current button for your heated mirrors.
Then wire your heated mirrors to the rear screen demister switch so they still function in the cold.

ahh cheers vtecmec. makes sense now.
But would it be easier to leave the heated mirror switch as it is then store the relay under the dash and have a pair of wires running to each door minimising the additional wiring through the door crevices ?
Was just thinking out loud - i guess theres lots of options. Not keen in taking the whole stereo system out as pioneer ipod adapter, bluetooth adpater and double din unit is all behind there and its pretty messy behind there

You'll be able to pick the heated screen feed from the interior fuse box, and probably have no need to touch the centre console.
