Draining Footwells

Hi guys,
Following on from my last thread - I've taken the carpets out my Golf and removed all the sound deadening, I've now reached the metal floor pan. I siphoned as much water as possible out the car ( there was so much
) and now I'm left with the last few mm of water - simple enough to dry up, no? Well I've been through 4 rolls of kitchen roll and it's still bloody there
is there anything readily available I can just chuck in the footwell that'll just suck out any moisture? I'm thinking like silica beads, but I can't get them locally (or cheaply locally anyway). Is there anything else that'll work similar? I'm about to nip down B&Q to see if they've got anything, but usually they're pretty crap at my local store
I just want to get the water out without having to get my hands dirty, it smells so bad in that car
