Lude Generation

evening all ive got a 3 point harness in my track car, im awaiting the creation of tramroads next batch of k brace but at the moment its bolted to the rear seat belt point. At my last track day 1 of the martials said itsto close as the point where it splits to go through the seat behind my seat is touching the seat, this means the seat is doing all the work rather than the belt.
Ive moved the passenger 1 to the top eat belt mounting point which has freed it from the seat back but i dont know if its better here or not

top is best, if you do not want a crushed spine in an incident.

Yeah that looks good to me. It'll transfer all the load backwards into the car instead of down through your seat/spine as the marshal/hardy have said.

With a 3 point harness, it should be attached directly behind the centre of the seat - not to one side. Personally I'd save for a 4 or 5 point harness, and get it mounted correctly.

I will be mate I'm getting a k brace of tram road motors and ill get a 4point as well.

Either option is not ideal, but personally I would say the lower point, as Demonlude says in needs to be in line with the seat more so than height. In a bad accident where it pulls the seat to that side your head and window could become one.

And keep those tasty seats of mine in mind for the future.

Having a harness without a cage and that might happen anyway (if the car is rolled).

Good call. I had 6 point harnesses fitted in my lude, and always felt a little uneasy, knowing that if I rolled the car I was literally sat rigid with nowhere to go. Didn't take me long after that to get a full roll cage designed and fitted.
