locking of sold item threads

Post by 4thgenphil » Mon Sep 03, 2012 1:06 pm

would it be possible to leave them open until the buyer receives the item or at least left for a week so that feedback can be left for the buyer? it would aid in their future sales if they were good (which most are) or ward others away if they had a bad experience!

just a thought

I usually leave them till the seller asks for a lock. Will nudge the rest of them and suggest the same thing!

Not that I sell much, but when I do, I usually wait until I've had confirmation from the buyer that he's happy with the purchase.

Only then I'll mark the thread as 'SOLD, Please lock'. :geek:

Is it possible to add a 'mark as sold' button for the seller too? Have seen this used on other forums

Would maybe make it easier for those sellers who are too lazy to let people know when something is no longer available?

I too wait for the buyer and seller to be happy before locking - usually ask in the thread. :D

Question - Why do we lock threads in the first place?

To prevent pointless bumping mainly. And to stop the for sale section becoming over-run with useless threads.

I've seen 5 year old 'for sale' threads being resurrected on PUK by newbies wanting to buy stuff.

/\ This, I think the system works ok, just a couple of hasty locks that's all.
