Got this today for around 30 seconds:
General Error

SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

Too many connections [1040]

An sql error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact an administrator if this problem persists.
Occurred around 13:32.

All seem to be working now, so just FYI really.

Cheers for the headsup - not sure where the MySQL server we use lives if I'm honest. Sure @Kawa will be along to have a look soon 8-)

It seems to be an issue with the database server, it's temporarily being a moron every so often. A refresh will usually sort it.

[edit] this is sadly not something we have control over directly, but @Kawa can ask the hosting bods about it.

I get reports on the site misbehaves. Generally it is less then a minute. Uptime last month was 99.97%. Previous month was 100%. So I'm not overly concerned at the moment. If it becomes a bug nuisance, we can shift server. :)
