can we have real time chat room, with private rooms if someone need resolve some problem and its in hurry, i found this in europian forums and its really heplfull.

Had a look through the chat applications available for phpbb and there are a few to choose from.

There has been many requests to add chat modules to phpbb as standard. This is always put off by the developers as it may detract from using the forum?

I always worry that these chat things are a bit like using a spanner to hammer in a nail. Given that MSN details are stored, surely that would do it? Between the Forum and PM's, I think we're OK - but that's just my opinion!

[edit] If we're desperate for a global chat thing, we could always create ourselves an IRC channel somewhere?

Yep, there are IRC chat pugins for phpbb too...

well if used as help an the time when someone need it i dont see problem, this chat i saw on EU forum and must admit its really good option when you stucked on something and desperate for help
