great example of a dc2 Marc!keep it nice an clean ;) i have those teg wheels now too, getting them sprayed a smokey black as we speak. My mate has a dc2, did a K series conversion on it and it seriously ****ing flew!!! :o  pity he rolled it around 2 months ago  ... and then went and bought a R33 GTR Skyline 8-) ... and then the bottom end gave up ... :!:  ... so he's going to rebuild that bigger and better lol!! he doesnt have the best of luck.

Ratty....ill only be a bender if youre in the passenger seat :P

Bennyboy... not gonna sell it....got a few plans.

Drax......those plans are just what you mentioned. Getting car sorted as a driver for a bit and im putting money aside for a jdm k20 swap.

Hopefully should be pretty rapid when its done.

I had a 96 spec DC2, loved that car, insanely quick for what they are.

Welcome aboard Marc! 8-)

I put my track lude's wheels & tyres on my
Teg last week - scared myself silly down some
of my favorite country roads. I was taking some
3rd gear corners flat out!

perfect plan mate - let me know if you want his number about the k20 as its for sale - undamaged in the crash but he wants to get it checked over first before selling it, doesn't want to sell on a dud.

I actually felt the opposite. For a car with nigh on 200bhp, they aren't that quick, certainly not insanely quick. Straight line speed, my old Corsa with circa 150bhp used to tear my mates DC2 a new 1.

In the twisties however, the DC2 is unreal. You could push and push and the cars limits are far greater than most drivers limits. Still regarded by many as the best handling FWD car ever made.

Your mate obviously couldnt drive the dc2 properly if the corsa was beating him
Regardless of what people think, its not hard to drive a vtec car hard/to its potential. He knew how to drive it.

Corsa XE weighs about that same as a DC2, torque figures speak a thousand words. DC2 has around 120lb/ft, XE Corsa, about 150lb/ft. That's where the Corsa has the advantage.

Both cars will do the standing 1/4 in high 14s/low 15s.

Not sure what's so hard to believe. Straight line pace, the Corsa had the extra grunt to pull away comfortably.
