This is Dexter, my Monterey Green 1989 Aerodeck 2.0 EXi with manual gearbox. I bought him three months ago as a totally standard car with just under 33,000 miles under his belt.

The story so far ...
He arrived on a wet and miserable February day on the back of a trailer after a six hour road trip.

Then settled on the drive with my other old 'Deck.

Rain stopped play for many weeks so Dexter was pushed into the garage.

But now the spring is here I've managed to get a few jobs done. Lowered with 15" MIM 2800 rims, full service, new radiator, battery, cambelt, stereo, speakers etc.

Nasty tow bar gone ... so much better.

I'm not planning to go crazy with the car, just a few tasteful mods then just enjoy cruising.

Excellent...
Nice looking car - great low mileage and I've always loved this colour on a deck.
And I agree with you - don't go mad with the mods! They look great as they are.

Thanks Iain,
I was really pleased when I was offered this. The colour I wanted (white being my other favourite), manual box, low mileage and no rust at all. It worked out a lot cheaper to buy this car than get my silver one fixed up which is pretty scruffy around the rear arches, sills and fuel tank lid.
Yeah, not much more to do to Dexter now other than the odd little aesthetic tweak here and there. I want to find that delicate balance between keeping the character of the car intact yet still making it a head turner as well as keeping the car practical and easy to use.

Thanks Nathan, I was really lucky to get this car and I absolutely love it.
You may remember this particular Deck, it was for sale on ebay in Yeovil two years ago with about 25k on the clock. As you already had two Decks on your hands at the time you declined to buy it. it ended up going up to Durham, had two owners up there and is now back in Dorset where it began it's life in 1989 (down in Wareham).
In many respects it's like a new car. The interior is pristine, I don't think the rear seats have ever been sat in. As hard as I try I still haven't found a spot of rust, the underside is nothing like my scruffy silver one. Delighted isn't the word.

I've given the engine bay a bit of a tidy up this week. It's still a work in progress.

Yeah, engine bay scrubs up really well.
I need to paint the heat shield with some black VHT paint as it's looking a bit scruffy.
