Lots of sheds and once they have a bucket seat and a hydraulic handbrake are £1000 plus. Even stuff that had been wall rubbed is going for £400-£500.

It is a shame to drift it, but it wasn't bought for anything but that and I'm sure it will soon not look so tidy

And so it begins..

Got the rear stripped out

Also found some minor rust in the usual spot on E36's

Image

Amazing how much guff is in a BMW

Image

Next up is removing the Traction control which on the E36 uses a secondary throttle body to limit the engine

Image

Which I removed

Image

To reveal the proper throttle body

Image

And then added a bit of pipe to replace the gubbins i removed

Image

So no more Traction Control or ABS (I hope, yet to test it)

Also fitted my drift wheel to get rid of the airbag

Image

Also got the diff off the old car to swap over only to discover that they are different sizes so I need to swap the back half of the prop and the drive shafts to get it to fit.

In the mean time as I want to test it on Saturday my mate has welded up the 2.93 ratio diff it came with so will whack that back in and swap the other diff etc in at a later date when I have more time

 it uses a secondary throttle body for tcs? Wtf? What a stupidly inefficient and over the top/expensive way of doing it, surely?!

It's a track car, why have it in the way obstructing airflow ;)

how would you suggest it work while not affecting your control surfaces. ie messing with your pedals.

@ammo: fair enough.
