Farlow's CRX VTEC

Well I'm sure most of you have heard about my crx at one point or another but to date only a select few have seen it. Since there's actually some decent work going on with it now I thought I'd post some pics.

Firstly, only a few days after buying it, showing off at the BDC at the Nissan plant Washington.

Then again a few months later at the BTCC Silverstone.

This time it's just in Claire's parking space at work.

The first thing on the list to sort out was wheels as the stock 14's with 65 profile tires were truly frightening.

I picked these up second hand on eBay for £300 which I thought was a decent deal. They are 15x7 Rota track-r's (basically a copy of Sprint Hart CPR's) and came wrapped in a set of Toyo T1R tyres.

A few months later the exhaust gave up and I was forced to fit this

It's a skunk2 mega power cat back that I coupled to a supersprint 4-2-1 and a toyo sports decat. The result... Loud, I mean really loud, definitely not an exhaust for a car that's driven daily.

Anyway shortly after this the rust started to appear on the rear arches and sills so we decided it best to get it sorted before the winter set in fully (bearing in mind this was nearly two years ago to date). Today I just received these pics from the body shop.

Drivers side still to do.
Image

But passenger side ready for paint.
Image

Arches already rolled to accommodate whatever new wheels I decide to fit.
Image

The guy who does all of the bodywork for me is retiring this month so it should be back in my garage within the next few weeks. I've been building up a stock of parts to fit when it gets here including this...

It's a B16b from a JDM civic type R and I have an LSD gearbox from a 98 Integra to help put the increased power to the Tarmac. Hopefully this build should move much faster than my other projects as I have quite a few of the parts already so watch this space.

Without giving too much away, the lows are already sorted for when I get the car back.

Haha, I thought you might. To be honest it wasn't the stock wheels I had an issue with really it was the tyres. But to be fair a project like this was never gonna be rollin on stock wheels.
