So after some considerable thought (one weekend away with a mate and deciding paying rent is rubbish) I have decided to give alternative living a go. The eventual plan is to use fletch as a base of operations while we buy and develop land for equestrian use. The council cant come and tell you off for living on your land if you can drive away soon as they appear  :guns:

So, they seller has put in a HUGE amount of work which I will show you as this develops. Sadly for him the missis he built it with left and his new one is not bothered about it at all. He was losing his storage so had to sell.

He is a 2001 Ford IVECO cargo with the 6liter 6 pot turbo derve

He has 160,000 miles on him (like isnt that just broken in for a lorry?) and seems to run lovely

He was up for £5,500 and i got him for £3,500 because i am a hard negotiator.

Here are the pics he attempted to sell the item with..... unsuprisingly he didnt get many people coming to view. Thankfully he was highly skilled at fabrication, auto electricals and fitting but absolutly shitebags with public display... He was in his mid 40's yet it looks like a student fleapit. You have to work at that...

He built it with a view to parking on the side of am Alp for a month while he snowboarded so it is well over engineered in the 'self contained' aspect. I have already taken out the three wardrobes and the silly cupboard at the back where he was going to fit the gas boiler.

Many plans are afoot and i shall document them as I go.

Next will be a run down of the van as it stands, equipment and fixtures and better pics of it generally.

Thanks for looking. Comments/advice from anyone with motorhome experience would be very welcome :D

Naaaa, I'm sort of off cars atm to be honest. Means of transport with heavyfoot syndrome pretty much explains my car needs. As long as its got over 190bhp I dont really care. I know thats bad but ...... 6 liter 6 pot

I will however be fitting a tow hitch and getting a box trailer for storage and probably take out the shower and toilet from fletch and reinstal them in that.

Sounds like a good idea, you don't want to be sitting there while your mates are round for a brew, little awkward if you need to take a jobby!

I lived on the Norfolk marshes many years ago. The toilet was an Elsan. You could tell who'd used it last!
