LOOL I was looking to buy his forth gen too. But ideally I want a 5th gen.

The car needed a new alternator, spark plugs, TB gasket, intake plenum gasket, radiator, brake pads and discs, and a boost controller. I managed to get that far but it still needed a new timing belt and water pump (most expensive and stressful job on a 3s), the body work needed repairs, the seats needed replacing, couple of bushes needed changing, there was a power steering leak, and the 4ws wasn't working. I only bought it for £900 but the costs added up to well over £2000 and she still needed another £2-3k's worth of work.

's problem with old sports cars. 's why I like the mid range 'sporty' cars like we drive. Still fast enough for our roads but much more normal repair/refresh bills.

Friewnd of mine bought a 300zx   great for the 6 weeks it went till something gave out and its been sat in a barn since. too much money to get sorted.

I got offered a 300zx tt auto but i read too many horror stories about them. I reckon a well looked after example would be alright but thats like finding a needle in a hay stack. I agree with you in that owning a "normal" sports car in the real world would be better suited to the average sainsburys employee

Gto's are a pain in the ass but when they are running right its one decent piece of kit. I will say that its not much faster than my bb4 was once I added my mods ;) but it will pull 150mph in 5 with 6th left for people with big balls! This is what I have been told anyway :)
Honestly I miss my bb4 the one that gave up :( rip!

Thats the thing with a GTO! The speedo will just keep going and going. It feels a bit like a diesel though on the stock turbos in the way it delivers the power. There's no top end as the boost falls off rapidly.

Got a massive soft spot for these cars, absolutely gorgeous. Just think I'd struggle with how much fuel I'd get through!

MPG is non-existent although its not too bad on a run. I could do 60 miles from london to cambridge on about £25 of 99 momentum. It needs to be run on super unleaded; you can't use any normal octane stuff. On boost you can see the fuel gauge go down xD

I would probably cry at that given how tight I am!! I struggled converting from diesel to my 5th gen lude so that would definitely be a turn off!
