Thos D16's are great motors- 130bhp! Barely any slower than the VTEC's tbh.

It's the same motor they used back in the day in the Dunlop Rover 216GTi cup. Might be worth googling that series for some tuning tips.

You occasionally see the cup cars advertised as track toys....

its almost finished!

its been a joy working on this and running it as a daily! Was a bit of a project and to help me improve my spray painting.
The cars shell is so clean.it was really worth putting some time into
heres some of the work done:

new suspension all round with a 40mm drop.
sourced vt wheels and refurbished them
new radiator
full service and a magnetic sump plug
finished welding the ef sills back on
fixed the indicators
painted the front bumper
painted the rear quarter panels
buffed, wet sanded and cut the paint all round
new number plates
full valet
fully cleaned and waxoiled underneath

Just needs a front lip, rear trailing arm bushes done and I want to paint the wing mirrors red

Also the exhaust tip was sticking out a little but I removed the system and refitted it since the picture and its nice and snug now 8-)

Nice job Lewis,paint looks great.
My nans neigbour had one the same colour back when they were newly released,i always loved coming round that corner and seeing it parked up,the only 'Sports Car' back them days,i think the import scene was yet to start in Ireland been that early in the late 80's,things have changed somewhat now.
My first car was a 1990 Civic import though,1.3 cc and came with such goodies as A/c and E/M,they where the bragging points back then.
I remember just after leaving high school a mate of a mate had acquired a Jdm boxy Civic Sir and the word was it was a flyer, never heard of Vtec till then,1993 that was and not many were around even then.
Huge fan of this jap car model era 8-) ,i must give in soon to that itch once and for all!
So you selling it on now?

thanks mate :) Yeah i have had a few people stop me and compliment the car, they said these cars were quite rare back in the day never mind now.
that's a cool first car and the 1.3 would have had a manual choke am guessing? I have been into Hondas since i passed my test and my first car was a 1.3 civic eg3.had a dent in every panel from the previous owner but it was a great car for me

Yeah the plan was to sell it when its finished but my brother now wants to buy it from me and I kinda don't want to sell it now aswell  so I ll just give him it when I move away.

Been doing a bit more work to the crx since it's better weather.Am in the long lengthy process of deep cleaning the underbody and sealing it again then painting it red.

Gave the paintwork another good polish, cleaned the Windows Inside and out, engine bay cleaned and its looking fresh for a 25 year old car ;)

I will be Removing the rear trailing arm soon to finish the job properly but for now I will do all the easy bits of painting
