New daily driver, I've joined the VW fold!

So I've given my Astra SXi to the wife and bought myself a new daily driver, a VW Passat R Line estate. It's rather lovely, I hope the 'lude isn't too jealous at the moment

It's got some cool extra's, like adaptive cruise control, parking sensors etc and the 190PS 2.0 TDi engine. Road tax is only £30/year and it does twice the mpg that the Astra did so it should work out quite cheap to run. I'm still getting used to parking it as it's the size of a small cruise liner but it's surprisingly nimble out on the open road 8-)

£30 road tax? That's a joke (but a good natured one!) :D

Lude looks great btw 8-)

I love these. I'm a bit of a VW fan now.

Do it. Do it now.

They remap up well also- had a DTUK box on our GTD Golf & it was a flying machine

Sold it on when I bought the ITR as I don't drive the Golf much now...

We've extended the VW family after selling the 'lude on to 4thgenphil

Wifey is now the proud owner of a 2015 Golf R DSG. It ain't half quick..! She wrote the Astra off and since she needed a new car quick she left it to me to sort it out ;) I saw it in the local VW dealership - it had been sat on the forecourt for a while so I got a pretty good price. Turns out whoever had advertised it on their system had put it on as a tiguan so it was basically un-searchable  Result... Fortunately when wifey went to have a look at what I'd chosen for her she liked what she saw so finalised the deal. She bloody loves it, so much so that I rarely get a go

This is the result of her little incident in my poor old Astra

That doesn't look bad enough to be a write off ... but we know how it goes these days.
Mind you, apart from the pennies, it was probably a blessing in disguise.
