Was away to Thorpe Park for a few days an checked out the mpg.
36.7! Yea was mainly motorway but not bad for an 18 year old 4 door saloon.
Unfortunately I started getting a radiator leak either from the cap or the top of the radiator. Has been mentioned to me before that people could smell a coolant leak but the level was never down so have just been keeping an eye on it. Does look as tho it's just the aftermarket cap but decided to take no risks. After some research it turns out a 5th gen rad fits so ordered this up.

Amazing MPGs really!
And that's a quality rad you have there!

Lo
Blimey that's good
Better than I've got from My Lude on a long motorway run.
Cheers

Cheers guys.
Fitted today with new coolant. Got as much as the old stuff out by putting a hose up the engine top hose. No more old green and fresh red.

Best way to do it. Did you remove the thermostat?
Where did you get the rad from out of interest?

No left it in bud. Probably was a little of the green left but should be fine.
Ebay. Most prices where the same. Found one or two a little cheaper but by time you added delivery the saving was gone. Plus place on ebay had them in stock. Nrgradiators.

unlike the lude it looks like you have loads of room between the new thicker rad and the exhaust manifold
great mpg on the long trip btw
pity the blue rocker cover i have spare wont fit your torneo
would have looked good imo
oh and i found the spare iacv you were asking after - its a 5th gen one.

Why won't the valve cover fit?

Nice MPG, means it'll be a really cheap run for you down to Peterborough for JAE

Used an image offline. There's an extra tab for holding down the alternator loom. This isn't on non euro r rockers. Believe its to do with there being no power steering bracket to bolt it to.
