As for the sound proofing, I think I remember from Rattys build thread he used a heathen and a scraper.

I'll give that a go but there £600 worth of the stuff (i never put it in though) someone mentioned elsewhere that you can freeze it and shatter it but i dont know how plausible that actually is

I would go B18 easier to get parts and are capable of all the power you would need in a car that light especially if its stripped out.

It will take ages the stuff covers all the boot wheel well rear quarters all the way upto the base of the front seats and then the front door cards

I did the majority of my sound deadening removal in the winter. It's a right PITA however you do it

Think ill "acquire" some heat guns from work see if that works since it won't cost me anything if not I might see about a fire extinguisher then resort to the freeze cans
