JDM 98Spec Integra Type-R: Update P12 (5th June)

Post by Dino » Mon Jun 03, 2013 3:21 pm

A few weeks back I went and purchased a JDM 98 spec DC2 after selling my Accord Typ-R to Alex.

The car is a 1998 year in Championship white.

i bought this off my neighbour after helping him source the car last year.

He bought the car and ever since owning it has not driven it much and had it garaged over the wole winter period.
i mentioned to him I was looking for one and after a little talking decided to strike a deal.
Mileage is currently 65,000 with no rust at all after being imported into the UK in 2007.

The car has all its history from Japan and a shed load of receipts dince being in the UK.

im now the 3rd uk owner.

The first owner had the car for 5 years and there was no expense spared and is virtually standard

The car has had a new set of oem dampers from Honda in the past couple of years fitted with new lowering springs (but im unsure what make these are yet).

As I was browsing though the receipts, I found a receipt from Performance Autoworks showing the car had a full set of Polybushes. (I though the car felt very tight) BONUS!!!

Ive now purchased a load of Bilts hamber products to fill the arches, do sills etc to protect her from developing any rust.

So this is my first part of the project.

Here she is in the flesh so to speak

Since owning the car, Ive now purchased and fitted a few other items.

1) Fitted BMC CDA induction kit and removed old airbox
2) Bought and fitted new Genuine Honda Badges as the old ones had turned pink £40 each from Honda!!!!

3) Bought and fitted a Tegiwa Brake Master Cylinder stopper, to give me some sharper and better feeling brake feel
4) Bought a set of Meister-R Zeta-R coilovers with Custom Spring rates (Still to fit these

5) Bought a 2.5" stainless decat and a Skunk2 Megapower back box. Just need to get a custom centre section made in next couple of week and then get fitted.
Ive just gone and polished and sealed the wheels and my track wheels also that ive gone and bought new 'H' stickers for:
Honda 98spec

Rota Rspec

6) Bought a set of Energy Poly-inset engine mounts
So next on my list is a full detail and I'll update with more photos and info as things progress.

All good so far for 3 weeks of ownership :D

Nice looking car mate, it looks and sound very similar to a teg that belonged to a guy I worked with. Do you know if it came from Plymouth?

Hey Pete. Yup i believe its from the devon area. I think the guys name is mark gunn?
Its a minter anyway.
Lude dude, i do love em... like a go-kart for the road.
Needs a few tweaks here and there to release its full potential but otherwise it puts a big smile on my face.

Yeaaaaaah that's him, been searching Facebook but just cudnt remember his name.

My god did he look after that car, i remember him telling me about getting paw to fit the bushes and suspension and what it all cost. He was bloody crazy in love with that thing. Iirc your mate must have paid nearly 7k for it? Possibly one of the cleanest dc2s around!!

When's it goin on track then hehehe
