Edd's S2000 :)
Hey all. Thought I would show you all the Preludes upgrade.
Well I saw this on eBay
I watched it for a few days and it was still only at about £2.5k.
It said it was clean, no rust, no dents and had just had the head serviced. Anyway with only 20 seconds left on the auction I put a cheeky bid of £3001. Won!
Awesome!
So I went 260 miles to pick it up on a rainy Tuesday evening. Got in it and instantly fell in love, it's soo snug, just holds you right and everything is exactly where it should be.
So I set of home after selling my prelude to Phil, after about 50 miles
Whoops! Turns out you can't just bury the loud pedal and have lots of safe fun unlike the prelude.
I still had 200 miles to get home!
So I drove to a petrol station, taped the number plate to the back window and stuck back in the red filter on the tail lamp that we were lucky enough to find, and drove it home.
I was totally gutted how could I have been such a noob!
So next morning I took it to my friend Andy who happens to run a garage, yes I am one of the lucky few with easy acsess to a lift, to see what he suggested.
Well after a brief investigation it turns out that the damage was just superficial. Nothing structural.
I phoned a local jap car breakers and sourced a scratched bumper and rear light cluster for £295 (I was desperate as this is now my daily and I needed to go to work at 2am)
We pulled the back end back out to somewhere near-ish and fitted the bumper and light cluster.
I then when and bought a uk sized plate (it's an import) and fitted that
It looks 100% better
So now hopefully after Christmas I can get it into the body shop to get it finished off, back to how it was before I got my hands on it!
There are a couple of small issues with it, the buddy club exhaust system is a back box glued on to a poor flow system, it's rusty and has holes in it, so that will have to go. I fancy some kind of stubby can.
Also I need a new rear diff mount as it's shot and makes the back end vibrate under acceleration.
And the reverse guard is temperamental, common fault apparently.
Plans for the future? New hood sometime next year, induction and learn how to drive it properly

Re: Edd's S2000 :)
Yesterday I treated myself to a new boot lid because the ecu I bought was the wrong one so I traded it.
Before
After
I think it looks much better now, it'll look even better after I have washed it!
