The three pin is the data connector rather than the service connector isn't it?

Yep - According to 5th gen manual (which includes ATTS) the set up should be the same (a 2 pin service connector and a 3 pin data connector);

Obvioulsy James has first hand experience of it being somewhere slightly different.

Might be worth checking the kick panel areas - the del sol and some civics (iirc) have the service connector there (and tucked into a rubber holder) rather than in the centre console.
