I had to adust my brake pedal sensor to cure a crusie control problem.

On both pedals there is a sensor.

1. Disconnect the sensor wiring.

2. Use a 14mm spanner to slacken the nut.

3. Rotate the senor to get it to the desired position, tighten the nut and reconnect the wiring.

I'm surprised you have to disconnect the plug. Is the system smart enough to reset on re-connection or something?

Mind you, I didn't know these sensors existed: I'd never thought about them. It makes sense: use the pedals and the cruise control switches off. Is it just an in-line micro-switch?

They are just ordinary push button switches, with the system looking for an earth via each, when you press the pedal, the earth is cut and the system turns off.

This gives me somewhere to start as I discovered the cc on the 5th gen isn't working.

Is the button on the rhs of the dash supposed to light up or stay depressed when pushed before setting the speed? Mine does neither.

There's a green light on it that should light up.
 can't remember if it's meant to stay depressed as well
