It's good, but not the best. Often it can get burned off quite quickly and sometimes people reckon it makes their engine noisier, but it does give good protection.

I was running this stuff for the last 2 oil changes. Burns like buggery and I had valve stems & piston rings renewed by PAW 12k ago. 5L for the change plus would need another 3L or 4L to get through the 6k miles. Engine noice seemed fine tho.

Gone for some titan 10W-50 this time, hoping it won't come out quite so quick this time :D

Just like to say - I switched from Motul X-Cess 5W-40 to use Fuchs Titan GT1 5W-40 XTL - because it was marginally cheaper - and all I can say is it really does seem to work. It starts from cold with quicker circulation as I occasionally used to hear top end rattle whilst the oil reached the head - not any more. I will be ordering more...

Thanks for the feedback. The GT1 has become very popular since the price was adjusted and no one has a bad word to say about it.

Cheers

Make: Honda
Model:Prelude 5th gen
Year: 1999
Engine type: 2.2vtec manual
Performance modifications: none
Driving style: calm, with occasional vtec to treat myself. yum.

work is only 5 miles away, so the majority of my driving is a short distance, just about long enough to get fully up to temp.

Hi

I would use a 5w-40 synthetic..

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-656-5w-40.aspx

Out of those, the best ones are the Fuchs/Silkolene Pro S, Millers CFS/CFS NT, Motul 300V, Redline and Gulf Competition. The Motul 8100 X-Cess, Millers XFS, Fuchs GT1 XTL/Supersyn, Shell Helix and Mobil Super 3000 are good, cheaper alternatives.

Cheers

Make: Honda
Model:Prelude 2nd gen
Year: 1987
Engine type: 2.0 B20A1 manual
Performance modifications: polished ported head, full exhaust, bored throttle body,
Driving style: half sensible, drive it hard on occasion when warmed up

I've got quite a bad oil leak atm so I've gone through 2 types of oil :L
I used Tripple QX 10w-40 semi synthetic which was ok

Now ive got drivemaster 10w-40 semi synthetic which i don't really like, takes a while to reach the top and seems to drag the engine until it warms up :S

When i sort the leak out i want to put a decent oil in, and do you sell oil filters as every time I've ordered them from Euro's, Camberley's and CPA they've all been wrong! didn't think it would be that hard :L

Cheers

Hi

Go for a 5w-40 as it will get around the engine quicker.

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-656-5w-40.aspx

Out of those, the best ones are the Fuchs/Silkolene Pro S, Millers CFS/CFS NT, Motul 300V, Redline and Gulf Competition. The Motul 8100 X-Cess, Millers XF Longlife, Fuchs GT1 XTL/Supersyn, Gulf Formula G, Shell Helix and Mobil Super 3000 are good, cheaper alternatives.

These filters will fit.
