Seat lever stuck - How to remove blockage

Post by Ludecruz » Sun Aug 23, 2015 3:09 pm

Ok so after reading a post on here about a *STUCK* seat lever I had a similar problem myself.
Mine is stuck in the correct position but it's a pain when I want to put things in the back seat and can't lift the damn seat forward. So I decided to go out and investigate .

@Chuffter & @indigolemon suggested it might be a £1 coin stuck in the runner or mechanism .
I'll do anything for a quid so here goes.....

2 X 14mm bolts & 2 X 12mm bolts and 1 phillips screw later.....

Looks like I have £1 stuck down there so I prodded and poked with a flat head screw driver ...No luck!

loosened the driver side bolts so I could unscrew the philips screw holding the plastic trim in place and hopefully get a better jab at the coin... Still no luck.....

Bit the bullet and removed the remaining bolts ( an utter pain in the ass to untighten ). There is also an electrical plug you will need to release.Think that's for the flux capacitor.. mmm Look at all that hidden treasure :D
[ For anyone wondering i'm in the process of refurbishing my steering wheel ;-) ]

Laid the seat out upside down , spent about 10 minutes wiggling the lever and prodding taking care not to damage the springs etc...

Low and behold look what I have laid out beside my seat, I am now £4 richer!

*Screw the plastic trim in place before replacing seat.
*Be sure to tighten those nuts up good and proper .They are that tight for a reason!
*Reconnect your Flux capacitor connector underneath ;-)

My seat now works perfectly once more ;-)
