Mine has the exact same "supercharged" sound. It's what all the people who ride in my car and notice it compare it to. As you'll see above, my bearing has been modified, so it's not overloaded, I think it's just the sound it makes. I actually like it :) As no-one else had ever mentioned the noise before I assumed it was the noise a non-overloaded H23 bearing on an H22

Thanks for the input NafemanNathan, so if the sound didn't go away, i'll surely go back to the H22 tensioner system with an homemade tensioner instead of the oem hydraulic tensioner.

I don't like when an engine makes strange sounds like that

Well, after a road test today, the sound seems to be here, just a little bit less strong.
So i will remove a little more material on the belt tensioner and i will see if it becomes less noisy.
I also notice that the engine seems to be smoother , i don't know if it is psychologic or real  , i better hear the clicking sound of the injectors, the valvetrain seems to be less noisy... damn belt too tight

Merlin, did you remember the brand of the timing belt of your 5th gen and of your racecar?

NafemanNathan: i forgot to mention that i have the balancer shaft belt removed, previously i was keeping the balancer shaft tensioner in place, now i have put some washers and removed it ( i'm going to machine a solid spacer instead of washers) . I don't know if it has any importance but i prefer to mention it. :D

Did the belt feel too tight this time around though (with the mod'd tensioner bearing)? Mine was spot on after the mod, was a genuine Honda one and still makes the noise.

Actually i'm using a Gates cambelt, so i believe that this sound is not a matter of belt brand i suppose...

the noise will reduce over time - fitted gates belts on my BB4 when doing this 3 years ago
it does feel slightly smoother compared to the auto tensioner - no idea why :?
could be just the new belt or the old auto tensioner sticking a bit due to wear and tear etc

I forgot to answer to NafemanNathan, yes, this time the belt was a little less tight, but i believe that i can "gain" one or two millimeters, maybe it will be enough!

So i conclude that the noise didn't come from the overtighted belt ( is the word correct? ) but of the conversion itself, am i wrong?

Mine uses a Gates belt as well. I guess it could be the belt and not the bearing itself.
