There's only one way to get in gentleman's sausage on and that's with corner weight guages. Flat surface and a tape to the arches is second best

hmm the groove on the bottom of the shock, should this allign with the pinch bolt, cuz mine doesn't... so do I drop the shock right down into the fork and do it up... or do I drop it as far as the groove lines up with eth pinch and do it up there?? need a quick answer cuz the car is in bits on the drive right now :)

Cheers

i have the tein basics and the groove runs all the way round so I dont need to twist but when the groove is lined up theer is still a cm or 2 gap to the collar... it will fit both ways cuz I can force the bolt through when it is dropped to the collar I just dont know which way is right.... anyone got basics fitted that have a pic of the where the shock meets the fork?

Nice write up Ted. Thanks.
This is a job I need to be doing at some point. At Japfest last week my lude looked like it was on stilts compared to most of the others!!

ahh i think i got it worked out... there is a slight flange that meets the collar when the pinch bolt is in the groove so I guess thats the right position, if there is a big clunk in the next 24 hours I will know i'm wrong..
