Getting Honda Part Numbers

Post by indigolemon » Mon Feb 14, 2011 10:58 am

Just found out how to do this largely by mistake!

Do a search on http://www.hondaoriginalparts.com as normal, and keep clicking through till you arrive at the numbered list. The URL at this point should be something like:

http://www.hondaoriginalparts.com/honda ... k_03=22962

The part we're interested in is: honda_car_parts_selection_pfk.php

And in the 'part number' column you'll have all the Lings specific part numbers. Now edit the URL, and remove the "_pfk" part before the ".php" part. You'll end up with something like:

http://www.hondaoriginalparts.com/honda ... k_03=22962

Again, the bit we're interested in: honda_car_parts_selection.php

And BOOM! All the proper Honda part numbers magically appear under the Lings ones.

Tested this a few times now and it seems to be consistent. Hope it helps someone else.

Easier than the 2-site link I provided earlier :)

What I've been doing is ...

1. Find part you want on Lings' site.

2. Add to Shopping Cart.

3. Go to Shopping Cart. Honda part number is displayed there.

4. Delete Shopping Cart. Go and buy cheaper elsewhere (Amazon USA is my current fave).

Also, the American site http://www.hondapartsnow.com shows part numbers with the same dagrams you get at Lings. May be USDM differences, but useful nonetheless. Better organised site, too ... you can select from drop-down menus.

Wow, how difficult. I use this:
http://japancars.ru/index.php?route=catalog/home

Select UK flag for English language.
Enter your VIN or select car by specified fields, save as a bookmark.

Voila - browse the pictures for parts. Very very handy and easy ;)
