Did you ever track down the source of that whining bud?

Keeping that detail under my hat Nitin, won't be long till they are fitted ;)

And nah bud not yet. It's booked in at my mates garage Monday. Having the OEM top mounts I got fitted to my Teins while it's there too. Hopefully it'll be a double pay day, cure a rattle and a whine. Fingers crossed.

As promised, pictures of the new wheels. They are quite rare Panasport Racing light weight wheels. 17x8 (although when we measured them they appear to be 8.5. Wrapped in brand new 205/40/17 Maxxis tires. Got a few width issues to attend too, but I was expecting that to be honest. Apologies about the poor pictures and also, the tires still have the fitting lube on. Probably not doing the wheels justice.

Just need to order some new wheels nuts etc.

Also on the updates, rear top mount rattle was cured by fitting OEM tops to the Teins and no further on the whine noise. Not had time this week.

They will be 8". All wheels are wider than they say as it's measured from inside the tyre seat.

Looks good but seriously get a bigger tyre. 205/40 is Soooo skinny. 204/45 minimum. 215/45 is ideal.

Bought and paid for so Im stuck with them for now. Plus, a 45 would add to the banging on the arches when I hit pot holes haha. Did you have to roll your arches much to fit your 9j's ?

Mine are 8" now but with a 30 offset. Arches were rolled before I resprayed it as the paint WILL crack. Bumper tabs on the rear relocated 2" further back. This is where you will be rubbing most.

IF for some crazy reason I ever bought a 5th, it would have to be a white Type-S. That car looks great!

That bronze color came out looking great. I have never been a big fan of painted wheels, but that is just about enough to convince me that sometimes they are the right path.

Especially those times when the budget fails...
Is National the best bet?
