I know, I found white OEM style dials but the guy selling them want $45 for the dials and $45 for shipping and this guy wanted $25 for the dials and $15 for shipping. Figured for $50 I can live with 1 word on the rev counter.

The rev counter may not be there much longer, depending how this 'precision' instrument works out

The ludes had a rough few weeks :(

Poor run on the dyno at the meet which phil spotted was a broken manifold thankfully now it's fixed. So the gearbox has decided it doesn't want to play anymore. We think it's one of the main shaft bearings that's given up.

Anyways, stoped in to see Mercutio 'on the way' back from Newcastle and I now have an M2B4, findaz flywheel & exeddy stage 1 clutch :D

Going to Tramroad for fitting on Thursday :)

going to body lemonade on your parade a little, but could the box have had an effect on the power aswell?

LSD FTW and a light weight flywheel you are going to be a very happy bunny 8-)

I was thinking this too, would probably drop all of it a little. Along with a bum wheel bearing isn't going to help.

Will get it back on once all this is fixed and see where it's at :scaredtoss:

Cheers for the stuff Merc, I owe you!

LSD baby!

Post by A1ex » Thu Aug 02, 2012 7:49 pm

As we all know, my M2V5 gave up last week. Long story short, thanks to mercutio and a well timed wedding I now have an M2B4 with light weight flywheel & new(ish) clutch. Very glad I picked the clutch up as by all accounts the one I had shouldn't be working anymore so it was well timed that it all went wrong :scaredtoss:

Anyway with some very good work by our friend Tramroadmotor, cheers Phil, the M2B4 is now actually im my car! :D

Only have a couple pics I've taken at the mo but Phil took a load for me which I'll put up when they come through.

Haven't put it through it's paces around the corners yet but already a happy man!!

Stiff rear suspension? :?

A very big thank you to Mercutio for the emergency loan on the box and to Tramroad for putting the box in. We could have our own South Wales PAW developing, then man rebuilds rally cars incl engines & boxes on the side 8-)

good news m8! the LSD is well worth it isn't it ;)
your old clutch was 100% better than what fell out of mine
the pressure plate was grooved to hell and the plate was was worn past the rivits  and the thrust bearing came out in two bits :o i was lucky i had the exceedy stage one and the pressure plate from the the donor lude.
same as you would love to dyno again too see the difference it has made ;)
mine was 154f/lb torque with knackered clutch and bearing so would be good to see, lets hope you get your 11 missing horses back

I know! Amazed it could still change gears to be honest. Can really feel the difference with the light weight flywheel. Looking forward to putting the LSD through it's paces :)

Dbo, I'd love to find those buggers! Need to sort out the wheel bearing next then back on

the drive plate was down to the rivets and the pressure plate was grooved to hell and back, im amazed it wasn't slipping but with only 217 bhp it isn't going to is it
sorry alex i couldn't resist ;)
funny old world i removed that clutch from the bag o bum droppings and it went to evesham then it went to manchester and then it got refitted in my place, its done a few hundread miles and shows no more signs of wear than when i took it out ,
