Kawa's Lude

Post by Kawa » Sat Jul 10, 2010 10:10 pm

I brought my first lude in May 2004, It was black and automatic. In August 2004, the auto-box lost 2nd gear and replacement was going to be 600 to 1200 quid, I sold it at a loss of 400 quid which wasn't bad considering.

In Sep 2004 I brought my current lude, which at the time had stunning paintwork and chrome wheels. The first winter did not do any favours for the chrome wheels and I plan to have them refurbished in the next 2 weeks

2006 - CDA Air Filter re-fitted

Post by Kawa » Fri Sep 03, 2010 10:49 pm

I have had a CDA air filter fitted since I brought the car in 2005. In 2006 I removed the black flexi hose and refitted using an ebay special that i cut to fit the new bends.

2006 - De-cat

Post by Kawa » Fri Sep 03, 2010 10:54 pm

Have removed the UKDM de-cat resonator chamber and had a de-cat pipe made. This means that at last my exhaust follows the channel correctly without vibrating on the heat shields. Also had the end-can lowered by 1/4 inch so the bumper is no longer resting on the can. Exhaust sounds much better now!! (big grin!!)

2006 - CarPC - In Car Web Cam

Post by Kawa » Fri Sep 03, 2010 10:55 pm

Hocked up a webcam to the carpc yesterday

will post some vids as soon as I get the file down to a respectable size!!
(60mb per minute at the moment) :)

Using a program called webcamXP (quite old now),
which automatically records 1 minute videos when there is
movement in front of the camera (ie all the time while driving),
then a DOS batch file that deletes any files over 2 days old.

Quite handy if you have an accident.

Has some good security prospects too.
"You have an auto generated email picture of this man,
who has stolen your car and he is at the GPS location"
