Afraid not Sam. I'm going to be fronting the cost of the moulds myself, and at the moment I need the spare money that I don't have to go towards the engine mounts group buy.

I'm sure he can wait can't he? :?

EDIT: And why is he not on this forum?! ;-)

New ValueSports Type 2 Side Skirts

Post by NafemanNathan » Mon Nov 12, 2012 12:30 pm

Well, if you've read the latest update of my project thread, you would have seen that I've recently acquired 4thgenphil's old ValueSports Type 2 side skirts. I was undecided at first of which car to fit them to, but now my mind is clear... And they're going on the Daily :) ... For now ;-) ... At least :?

First of all, before I do anything else with them though I need to fix them. There was nothing too detrimental to their overall appearance (once fitted), but if they were fitted to the car as they were I would always just know they were damaged.

So! Before pics!...

I can't for the life of me remember which end is which out of those pictures, I just know only one end wasn't damaged. So!...

And then...

So there they are waiting for me to key up the old paint ready for new :)

I was fairly happy I managed to get them to that stage in just a couple hours spread over yesterday :)

The plan is to spray them satin black to match the lip, but they won't be being fitted until the car is behaving itself again... The oil light has flickered at me a couple of times.

Hopefully it's just the oil pressure switch, so it's having a new one fitted mid week hopefully. I would fit it myself, but it's an absolute bitch to get to and I don't fancy removing the inlet manifold to get to it. My neighbour has access to a four post lift, so he's going to tackle it for me :)

I'll also get him to find out which part of rear suspension is making an annoying knocking noise whilst it's in the air as well.

Oh and you're a loser if you give me any sort of "the car shouldn't be it the air anyway" comment.

Hoping to have a good bit of colour co-ordination with the rear spats as well when those go back on 8)

Skirts are all keyed up ready for primer and paint as well now.
