The End

Post by NafemanNathan » Fri Jan 18, 2013 8:07 pm

Finally had word back from my mechanic this evening with some not so great news...

Complete oil pump failure and this...

Image

So that's it for her I'm afraid :( I can't be doing with getting her fixed, which is a shame as I just had to add primer and paint to the VS skirts and I'd put a jobby load of effort into refurbing a set of these...

And I had a brand new Eagle F1 tyres for them too

It's also a pain in the ass as both my insurance for the Prelude and the Aerodeck ran out yesterday and I really wanted to get the Lude back on the road so I could SORN the Aerodeck to save up and concerntrate on getting the rust fixed

Dam thats a shame.

So the Aerodeck will be your daily with your sex lude project or another car as daily?

Good effort on the wheels.

Massive shame, quite liked your daily! No idea what the thing is that you're holding though.

I do want another car for a daily. I've blatantly gotten used to having two cars to swap between, as I can always use one as a back up when the other's needing work/mods. The Aerodeck isn't great on fuel consumption either, so not ideal as a daily. I do have another car in mind, but I'm in a bit of a predicament where I can't afford it until payday (end of the month), yet I need to be able to drive to work up until then :?

Going to ring a couple of insurances companies tomorrow to see if I can insure the Aerodeck for a couple of weeks and then swap it over to another car without a big loss. Don't know if they do that though :?:

It was only going to get better to

Yeah, as Sam says it's a magnnetic sump plug. Well at least we know they work!

I've obviously considered that, but I don't like the idea of sticking in a lump I don't know the history of. And it'll still be a lot of hassle and expense. Be a different story if I had my garage already and so could do it myself.

Aww man, gutted for you. If I was anywhere nearby I'd have happily helped you swap the lump :(

What about the car Bri is breaking? Is the lump of known origin there?

Thanks for the offer Sam. I think I've actually convinced myself to look on the bright side and sell all the go bits to recoupe a bit of money to put towards the Project, and then I can also utilize a lot of the other components to help speed up the build to (ie. All the suspension components I can remove to get powder-coated and my ES bushes fitted and then do straight swaps).

Plus I do really want this other car I have my eye on, so I'm looking for excuses to buy it

EDIT: Thanks as well Lemon ^ Same response though ;-)
