2mm
Hi guys I've just got a 62 mm throttle body of a ATR
does 2mm really make a difference??
I plan on putting a h22a7 head inc cams on to my h22a2 bottom end
Is there any real point me messing around

What intake manifold are you going to use? If H22A2 stock, then you will need to port it's inlet to 62 mm.
Either way, 2 mm makes a difference and it definitely won't be too much . You won't get +10 hp or so, but every little helps. Those 212 hp in H22A7 aren't there with no reason.

If you go with the ATR inlet manifold too, and a decent exhaust system and take it to Buzzonion Vtec to do the work you could see 220-230bhp from that setup with a good tune.Madhatter81 wrote:

Also, in answer to the question does 2mm make a difference, yes it does;
60mm TB has a 2827mm^2 flow area
62mm TB has a 3019mm^2 flow area
which will allow an extra 6.5% of air through, you'll need the extra airflow to ensure it's not restricting the bigger cams as everything will be flowing quicker to produce more power.

It was part of a bigger build, wasn't just the TB. The whole build, including a full head rebuild cost 3k parts and labour not including the exhaust.
It was tuned with a Hondata s300 socketed ecu. A lot of work to tune just a TB, I'd put it on as part of a bigger build rather than on its own
