P13 chip advice wanted

Post by bb4life » Sun Apr 14, 2013 8:57 pm

Hi all, need some advice, ive got a p13 ecu in a jdm bb4, and ive managed to get my grubby mits on a genuine superchips chip, ive not come across much info for theese, apparently theyre a not a chip that needs setting up, its a fixed chip so from what i understand its just a plug in and play job, or have i been given the wrong information? Is anyone running one of theese?

Thanks fred.

I found one in a ecu, got it laying around somewhere, does yours have the extra board or is it just a chip?

There really is very little info on them from what I found but it should just solder in and go.

do you know what the chip has been mapped for?

i would rather if i were in your position buy one of robs chip, they are a better know quantity and tried and tested with good results and many happy customers

Just my opinion though ;)

Mine is just a solder in chip, i was thinking about getting a rob job done :) but ive put superchips in some of my old fords before and they were well worth it by far, when i bought it it came with another ecu cover with all the superchips stickers and all that gubbins, and i checked the numbers on the ecu cover and they batch up with mine,

Just opened up my ECU and found a superchip staring back at me, I have a spoon one here, going to swap em over and see if that's why its accelerating like a pig when warm.
