Honda Prelude 2.2 VTi BB8 Manual Red Top *SOLD*

Post by Supermarine Blues » Sun Jun 30, 2013 7:01 pm

Honda Prelude 2.2 VTi BB8 – one of the very last UK-spec cars made.

Rare manual with the sought-after 197 BHP H22A8 ‘Red Top’ engine.

Registered January 2000, 96,000 miles.

Taxed until 31 October, MOT to April14.

Originally ordered with Motegi wheels, leather gearknob & handbrake handle, mudflaps, chrome exhaust finishers and a 6-CD autochanger.

Rare, unmolested example, except for the following upgrades:

• JDM-spec Honda front fog light kit.
• USDM-spec overhead console with individual map reading lights.
• Projector HID headlamps with the correct beam pattern and correct 4300K bulbs.
• Front door speakers (subtly) upgraded to Kenwood KFC-1666s.

Lovely Supermarine Blue paint with deep shine, it looks far newer than it is. The only defects (apart from the inevitable stone chips (mostly re-touched), a door ding, minor scratches) are that the clearcoat is peeling on part of the rear bumper and a couple of small surface rust bubbles have appeared on the rear wheelarches. These areas really need attention (one bubble has been polished back & touched-in) before it gets serious, but are presently only really noticeable under close inspection.

The wheels were powder-coated a few years back, but are showing a few minor scratches & minor bubbling now. The Goodyear F1As all still have plenty of life in them.

The interior, engine bay, underneath are all clean and very tidy too. It has been looked after well since I bought it in September 2005 and it’s been thoroughly Honda-maintained since.

The brilliant 4WS system, everything else electrical, all works perfectly and it drives superbly; 5th gear doesn’t crunch, nor does it smoke on start-up, which can be common faults.

It has been very reliable and only needed consumables; the battery, throttle cable, rear brake calipers and many ball joint dust caps have all been replaced in the past year or so.

It has been a great car and will be fondly remembered for its all-round abilities and great character, but the temptation to try a Legend with SH-AWD has proved too great.

Please Note: You will need to bring proof of insurance (certificate) to test-drive since the car is currently uninsured.

£2,000.00

Thanks, Rob.

Truth be told, I'm sorry I'm selling up, too. I'll miss it.

Cheers, Simon.

Since no-one round here seems mad enough to buy a used car from me, it's now also on Pissedupheads.
